The European Union has committed €116 million to support 13 projects focused on restoring oceans and waterways across Europe. These initiatives aim to preserve offshore marine protected areas, protect migratory fish habitats in the Danube, reduce the environmental impact of fishing on marine species, and strengthen citizen science in the marine sector.
