On May 22nd and 23rd, 2024 we celebrated the kickoff meeting of this new and challenging project: REFEST – Retrofitting of fishing fleets with low payback time and easy to deploy solutions for footprint and GHG emissions reduction.
REFEST project brings together a consortium of 14 partners from 9 European [AC1] Union countries plus Turkey and it is coordinated by Klaipeda University (Lithuania). The focus of the project is on the development of the most promising scalable technologies, easy to deploy and suitable to be installed in a broad range of traditional fishing ships. Lear more.
The event, hosted by Klaipeda University, brought together key partners and stakeholders, from academic and industrial sectors, marking a significant step to start REFEST project. The two-days meeting was the occasion to present the overview of the project, including the objectives and the plan for the next 6 months activities.
The project, funded by the European Union under the Horizon Europe program (grant agreement n° 1011157663 – topic HORIZON-MISS-2023-OCEAN-01-05) will have a duration of 3 years.
